Enjoyed catching up on your joys and struggles in Greece. So beautiful, your neighborhood and the islands. Interesting that your Dad, like mine did (born in 1903, died in 1985), counseled about frustrations "illegitimus non carborundum..." Must be a Dad thing.
Your Chevy Chase neighbors are thinking of you. Julia and I had dinner at Nancy's new place -- nice, lots of windows looking out on trees. We celebrated Claudia's birthday in September at Positano's (I always want to say Positrano's), mine this month at Levante's, and rumor is Julia's next month will be at Shanghai Village. Bethesda is a little quieter in this time of economic fear and hopefully rational reordering (may everyone in the world have enough to eat). But as St. Paul said: "I know how to live with abundance, and I know how to live in humble circumstances" (Philippians 4:12).
Can't visit you this year but maybe I'll figure out how to attach the camera to my laptop and get folks together and we can Skype you.
Meanwhile, so happy you are doing so well -- as usual!
